Shop Hop

My Mom and I did a shop hop of quilt shops on the Olympic/Kitsap Peninsula today. We went to 5 shops and at each one we received either a blue or yellow fat quarter. I loved visiting all of those shop each have their own unique feel.











We also stopped at Pacific Fabrics in Bremerton. I picked up another fat quarter and some ultra suede.











While at Esters Fabrics on Bainbridge Island I found this cute satin ribbon that I had to have.















Also at Esters I purchased two wonderful pewter bumble bee buttons. The had a great collection of buttons there.

Season change and a braclet

One of the sure signs that the seasons are changing arround here from summer to fall is the GINORMOUS garden spiders. This one has been hanging out side our front window for about a week.









I recently finished(almost) this braclet. It was a design i have been admiring for some time. Now all I need to do is the clasps, I think I want 3 buttons instead of 3 beads. Any suggestions??

Summertime Swap Finished!!!

My summertime quilt is finished!! I will ship it off to its new owner on monday. I really hope she likes it.

Summer long time no post..

ok...so i haven's posted in like....forEVAR!!! So far summer has been pretty good, other than the 95+ degree weather. It was so hot that just to sit in one spot you are sweating all the water you had taken in.

Over the 4th of July Franc, Melissa and I went to Eastern Washington to visit Francs family.

while there we went to Silverwood amusement park. this picture was taken from the ground looking up. Franc is on the right, Mel in the middle and Fran's neice Marrissa on the left. I rode this ride once, that was enuf for me....

pretty bead give away

Came accross this blog and she is showing her blog appriciation with a give away. Crossing fingers and toes that they will be added to my bead collection. I will post more later.

SPRING!!!!!

Sping hit Sequim today. Franc and I went to Wal-mart and got some flowers.

we had to run to Home Dept for a new hummy feeder and he bought me a bee on a stick.

I hugn up two bees on the wall.

Right after i took this picture a hummy buzzed my ear.

Every other sunday the recycle goes out. Doing our small part to save the planet.

New post with a new computer

While trying to send an e-mail yesterday, old bessy (the computer) crapped out on me. Lost EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Pictures are gone, e-mails are gone, files are gone, patterns and recipies are gone, it is all GOOOONNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Wally World and purchased a new one and went in to $350 more into debt....So all evening I was updating and downloading and entering pass words and e-mail addresses. Other than that not much has been going on. Franc smashed his finger and we got to spend 3 hours in the ER. Here is a pic of Frankenfinger

I will spare the gorry detailes but the tip is broken and he had to have 5 big ole stitches. He keeps trying to show it to me, gross!!

I got my beaded hand finished, well at least the beaded part. Now working on the quilting part. I am going to frame it in black fabric and then add some other elements to it. I have a fabric origami book by Mary Jo Hiney called Quiltagami. I will be adding some origami in to the design.

Its not as cool as Beths beaded hand but she has more experience with bead embroidery than i have. This is my first large detailed piece.

WOW two posts in one day!!! This is a baby quilt top that i have finished. Still need to buy the backing and quilt it. I think I will go to my mom's and use the quilt frame on it.

quilt blocks and WIP

So I ahve joined a quilt block swap. You only do one a month but a new person signed up and had no one to swap with so I volenteered....but i want to keep the block!!!! I love the browns and robin egg blue together.












Here is the other block. I really like the pink and black combo...I really hope the ladies like these blocks.
So here is the work in progress...it has been in progress since before christmas....
I want to add some more to the pinky and middle finger before i fill it in with the purple.

So last year when I went to the Sew Expo I had a mission to find this pattern. It is called Hollow Cube. Now a year later I am fianaly doing something with it. This is just layed out, not sewn together yet.

I just made these earings today. I got the tutorial from Peikko on the SJA forums. Thank you Peikko for a great pattern.

My year in Pictures

This was acctually taken in Dec of 07 right before we moved....it is my big kitty Lowbacca.

Franc and our little kitty Maile....taken in our new place in January...thats right we moved 12/28 3 days after christmas.

A beaded wall hanging I finished in April.

It snowed on April 19th!!!

Melissa was exahusted after a 3 day travel stint....she flew up form Cali to go with us to the Sasquatch Festival.

Franc and mines faverite part of the show...The Cure!!! The first time I saw the cure was at the Gorge with Franc and now we get to see them again at the Gorge.

Death Cab for Cutie opened for them...awesome show!!

In August we celibrated Justins and Devins Birthday, it started out at Carie Blake Park but it was way too cold so we moved it to our house. A bit cramped but warmer.

Melissa came to visit us the last week of August. We went shopping for school stuff...had lots of fun.

Also in August Derrick got married to Amanada , and had their wedding reception in September on our parents aniversary....here they are raising a cup to each other.
